After reading Paz and Mittos introductory posts I feel like a newbie or a lifestyler, ah well here goes, heres my introduction.

I’ve been a car nut all my life, a petrol head from the early years. My mother swears blind that my first word was Mini and remembers me sat on the back of the sofa at 2 years old naming cars as they passed the window. Needless to say cars were my destiny…

Today’s offering is this excellent video from Stephane from Clash Productions following the Driftmonkey team with Ken Nomura at Gatebil in Norway

Now this is beyond the conventional – certainly in the UK. The BMW 330ci is a good motorway car, perfectly capable on the twisties – but so often forgotten about and overshadowed by the E46 LSD’ed M3. But just because it’s not an M3 doesn’t mean it doesn’t have the right ingredients – RWD, a manual gearbox, and a personality. This build has been in the Drift Car Build Projects section - and it popped up almost over night under the radar – and it’s awesome!

You might have noticed we were all playing around on bikes, pit bikes, road bikes, jump bikes etc in the BBQ video posted yesterday – and after several beers, we all concluded that at some point a ridiculously fast bike would kill us all. Phil came up with a theory – how can you get a cool bike that won’t kill you? Something custom, something different, something you don’t necessarily have to do 190mph on to enjoy.

And so my tenuous link brings us to this wonderful short film about Japanese bike builder Shinya Kimura. Just watch it – it’s not long, but it’s wonderfully shot and his words are ace. Any one who turns a spanner on their car will appreciate it. I’d love for something similar to be filmed with a backstreet Japanese tuner garage. I already posted this on my Facebook last week, but it seemed opportune – Enjoy.

So we had a BBQ today for lunch – just chilled, some tunes, some food, some beer. Then we all realised we were Danny Mad Skills. Today was a good day.
