A New Year in the Office: Bons new 750bhp taxi.

And what a pleasure it is to be back on the worlds biggest drift website blogging our general goings on and telling you the stories about the idiots that work here, myself included. We’ve been out of the office now for a couple of weeks, but the build up to Christmas was completely mental and none of us had any time to get on with any real actual car stuff, other than driving the S15 in the snow with bald tyres. However, this is 2011, and we have so many cool and awesome plans now we are settled and rocking – and we may as well start with Bons new purchase, his 750bhp 1.5JZ MarkII.

Seven Hundred and Fifty horse power in a road car is a bit silly, especially when it’s in an old dodgy Toyota. None the less, this monster will be road legal, and will scare literally everyone, excluding perhaps Bon himself. The engine is a 3 litre bottom end on a 1JZ head, T88 turbo and massively complex fuel system.

It’s so ridiculous it doesn’t actually fit in the engine bay… and there is a whacking great hole in the bonnet….

Ignoring any F&F references, the car is also kitted out with a full nitrous oxide kit. Ridiculous.

Grams and Ferrari F40 brakes…

You push this button to go faster. As if you really needed to.

Inside is Bons custom Cheese head Personal steering wheel (based on our Personal range in the Driftworks Shop)

A drivers bucket seat and roll cage ensure the car remains a strict two seater.

Good to see him so happy. I’m sure a full report will come soon from the man himself.

Meanwhile in the office, we’ve come back to literally hundreds of orders from Christmas – thank you everyone who ordered during the sale and we started early today to try and clear and pack the backlog!

Some new products came in today for us to play with – namely Rota Grid V Bronze 15×8 in 4×100 or 4×114.3pcd. You can only buy these wheels at Driftworks, and they are gorgeous.

Great dish, and only available in aggressive ET0. Perfect fit for a standard body AE86, or an MX5 with mild arch work.

Phils been hard at work on the AE86 over Christmas, and thought it’d be rude to not throw a set of these awesome wheels on!

These will be in the shop any day, expect and announcement.

Another very very cool new product from Driftworks is a Driftworks Exclusive Nardi deep dish steering wheel.

High quality stiched logo, orange marker banding, orange thread stitching…

And 350mm, the perfect size for a drift car. This is a prototype, and we’re going to make a couple of changes, but this is just one of the awesome premium level products we will bring you in 2011.

Finally, I would like you all to welcome our newest member of staff, Phil Maclachlan – or FlikstRR as many of him may know him as. He’s our new resident super geek, he will be turning the Driftworks and TrackCulture sites into works of coding art and make them the best blog, shop and forum experience anywhere else in the world ever.

Did you all have a good new year? Hope so!

-Al

Oh shit. I suspect bon is going to create some sort of dark matter vortex when he does his first 5th gear 200mph rolling burnout – the ground will open up and swallow the entire world.

Looks like the 15×8 grid V’s will become play wheels for my Toyonda very soon !!!
