Build Blog: Datsun 350SX WTF? (Video and Pictures)

After 4 happy years thrashing an AE86 20V, my dream project has finally started. Ladies and gentlemen, please meet Aardvark, my ’74 Datsun 260Z, a hopeless pile of oxidized metal, all chopped up and ready to accept a 300 bhp V6 from the late Nissan 350Z, and – perhaps more interestingly – the complete running gear from a Nissan 200SX S13.

This is a guest post, and as such, it should be both informative and hilarious; well, what could be more fun than hearing a Hungarian tying his tongue in knots while trying to explain the delicacies of a subframe transplant? So please give a warm welcome to this lousy first video of mine, showing the current state of the build. Please let me know in the comment field if you liked it (if you could even decode it through my accent), if you want more, or if I should rather stick to written explanations and still images in the future… (READ MORE!)

  • For those among you, who couldn’t bear the film, here’s an easy to digest excerpt:

This:

Plus this:

Plus this:

Shall turn into something like this:

Sweet project, that engine should sound sweet when done. Out of interest which ford are the hubs from and how did you modify them to fit the s13 struts.

Hi,

This is great because I have been building the same thing. I have a 1971 240z that is sitting on s14 suspension in the front and the rear. It’s being sandblasted as we speak, and next month I am ordering a complete Driftworks suspension for it. CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

Her some build videos:
