FMIC (front mount intercooler) kit for Nissan Skylines
The standard wing mount intercooler on the Skyline is only designed to cope with the heat levels created by standard boost pressure and normal driving. When driven hard, especially if you increase the boost (and let's face it, you want to) the standard system suffers from heat soak. This leads to higher charge temperatures which can mean a drop in performance and a significant increase in detonation occuring during drifting. This problem is made worse with drift cars as airflow to the front of the car is limited and the engine is typically working harder than even before.
These FMIC kits feature a large core (actually the exact same one we used for the V-mount setup on our S14a) as well as all the pipework and brackets needed to sit it up front giving it plenty of fresh air.
Fitting of the kit is very straightfoward with the comprehensive fitting kit. Nothing the average DIY mechanic can't handle
Please note, photograph shown is the S14 kit, Skyline kit photo is on it's way.
