heh, we realised it wasn't his routing table because he could get packets to the IP address. It must be something wrong with the DNS for Morfs site because this problem seems to propogate across more than one ISP. Using just the IP address inplace of the hostname didn't work either because Morfs website uses host headers
So having to add the address into the hosts file is the only way to go.
Morf: You should mention to your ISP that a few people are having problems resolving your address.
