I was under the opinion that seats would be submitted for testing to an approved test house for the FIA and that the test result (if positive) would then mean that that model of seat is approved and therefore that model of seat can have a fia approval label fixed to it not the indvidual seat tested - reading the test details which are freely available for anyone to read ( but they are pretty tedious)the testing soulds like its bordering on destructive so the tested seat would probably be weakened anyway

I was not aware that individual seats could be submitted- but if this is the case i would be very interested to get details on how it can be done.

Generally the accepted guide to deciding if a seats approved is to look for a label that would give the fia approval number , manufacturer , seat model , serial number and build date.

without this the seat is not approved....or am I wrong?
