I havn't seen it written anywhere but forgive me if it's been answered... Does the FIA approval have to be in date? Surely if the design is up to FIA standards then as long as the seat is not damaged it should still be FIA? It's not like it is made of some mythical materials that combust after 3 years etc?

I'm asking because I have a cobra monaco which has an FIA print on the side but it appears to have the number "1999" on it, I'm not sure if this is expiry etc as I can't remember exactly what it said but would this be OK?
