Well Round 3 is next at the phenomenal Knockhill Circuit in Scotland. 2006 year was the first time this venue had been used by us and the course layout was to say the least exciting. By using Seat Curve (formerly known as Duffus) as Turn 1 the entry speeds were at the level of Silverstone with some drivers hitting over 100mph before dropping into Seat. The Knockhill staff and spectators had never before seen anything like this and neither had the drivers. Our judge at the time Mr.Ueno (of Vertex fame) commented that he wished they had something like this in Japan and that he wanted to drive his Soarer here, so this coming from him means Knockhill is as awesome as it gets. Some pics below from last years event:
For July 28th we will be using exactly the same track layout and all the drivers we have spoken to cannot wait for this event to come around.
We are still finalising the timetable for this event but I can let you know that the competitors day starts from 12.30 and that the gates open to the public from 4.00pm, with the event finishing at around 9.00pm. Again the finals will run into dusk and seeing the drivers coming over Seat and through the course with the headlights blaring is a full on experience.
We will be running a Licensing session on the day, this is scheduled for between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. EuroDrift Am and ProAm License holders and those who have tried out (or applied but have been unable to attend) for an EDC License will be given priority. If you are none of the above then please contact
maz@europeandriftchampionship.eu with your details.
