I very nearly made that mistake with the Mini i'm building for the missus last weekend!
"Hmmm...Fit these nice new arches to the nice new fiberglass front end and it'll be ready for the new wheels....which are nearly twice the width of the current ones.....hang on!!!"
Ended up cutting 2.5 inches out at the front. Thank F*** I realised!
