RWD jap and cheap inurance, not likely unless you find a uk AE86 GT (infact I doubt very much with soaring values that they are cheap anymore, used to be gp 10!)

I could advise if you really want to, and are prepared to wait.. keep your eye on the classic car trader magazines and on ebay and autotrader/pistonheads etc. until something like a toyota corona or other 70's small engined classic comes along! they are often dirt cheap to insure even under a normal policy! but parts dont come along easily if you break it... best bet, stick with something common and rwd like a skoda, lada, ford etc. and keep to the family friendly models! get something front wheel drive and cheap like a civic/crx 16v for your speed fix.
