the subframe would be classed as part of the seat so the subframe would need bolting down as in the regs and as a aftermarket frame would be mounted on the floor not using the original mounts then it would need spreader plates.
by the way when plates are described as 5" they do not have to be square - 6.5x4" 8x3etc is fine if that fits better its the area thats needed
