| The noise is normal. It's just some air going back out through the intake, getting chopped up by the spinning turbo blades, it's unrelated to the wastegate.
If the actuator arm was somehow disengaged from the wastegate, your turbo would be spinning up to high levels of boost, and your tubby would probably be dead by now.
It's definitely worth getting hold of an aftermarket boost guage, and see exactly how much boost it's putting out. If it's hitting the proper amount, that will let you rule out some stuff . |
