| It depends on the setup as there is nearly always something that is at its stress limit and in need of upgrading. In my case at 545bph the gearbox is at its limit and blowing every so often. For reliability you need to build a car for say 500bhp and then run it at 400bhp. I think for FDs (and most jap cars for that matter) 500bhp is a point where you need to start spending big wonga to get any kind of reliability. To upgrade my gearbox would cost £3k or more so I just run standard boxes and replace them for £200-350 every so often. I've not met many people that have managed to run a car specced for 500bhp at 400bhp, its just too tempting to pump up the power. |
