Cheers guys, it's nice to have a bit of support.

Jamie - the idiot's guide to clutch changes in an MX5 is:
* Buy the Rod Grainger manual
* Follow the instructions
* The end.

The clever person's guide to changing the clutch is:
* earn money
* pay grease monkey to do it for you.

The powerplant frame is a bastard, especially the nuts on the top of the diff. Getting to the bolts on the top of the gearbox is fun too - I had to use 3 12" extensions and a UJ. Don't forget to take the slave cylinder off too (which can be done from underneath with a 12mm spanner - the instructions bleat on about going in through the wheel arch). The worst bit is the exhaust downpipe/manifold flange - I nearly break my arm on the subframe every time I try to get a spanner on the nuts.
