The padding needs to be fitted where any contact can be made with any part of the body.
front legs
centre hoop
door bars
etc etc
if passengers are likely to be in the car, then padding needs to be fitted on that side of the car aswell......
a little bit of common sense will dictate that if there is any part of a steel tube(read...roll cage) that a part of your body can impact....legs/ankle, shoulders etc, then its at least wise to put some form of impact resistance on its surface
Jord, or anyone else with a similer cage, you will need to cover the areas marked in read as they are a sharp projection, especially the one that sits just behind your head, that joint will very easily split open and pierce your helmet in an impact spilling matter all over the place, and ruining your loverly seats
the green bit, if its withing the distance stipulated by the regs will also need doing
