by the way when plates are described as 5" they do not have to be square - 6.5x4" 8x3etc is fine if that fits better its the area thats needed........."
and from the rules and regulations..
4-7. Safety harnesses must be used with a minimum of four fixing points (although we recommend a harness with five fixing points) and comply to SFI regulations or above and must be securely attached to the vehicles body or roll cage for both driver and passenger seats. The straps from the shoulders should be mounted as near to horizontal as possible – not on the floor immediately behind the seat
i would say it is far better to drill a hole, and put an eyebolt into the vehicle body, its much more safer
if the harness is mounted to the seat for RD 1, it will have to be rectified for round 2
