She blew a valve out on APT's dyno today
..
The engine was very much an unknown quantity from a breakers, so I suppose it could have been worse..
Gary and the team at APT did an absolutely incredible job getting the VEMS up and running, and sorting out a few wiring niggles here and there, and the power was looking very promising before we lost the valve..
My theory on the engine prob: The engine had lot's of crap around the crappy sparkplugs it came with, so when we changed them we blew out everything we could with an air line and brake cleaner, but I fear that something got down there and stuck in the exhaust valve of cylinder number 4 (leak down tested). There wasn't a hint of det, and the new plugs came out looking absolutely fine..
We didn't get the car on the trailer until 3am this morning, and I had to leave for APT at 5:30, so I'm absolutely nackered... + (suprisingly) a bit gutted.
Update on what I'm going to do about it as soon as I've had some sleep and my brain works again..
