Time for a bit of an update. Its been a bit up and down but its been fun.
1st up the alternator cooked itself but that was easily sorted out. Got myself a mongoose exhaust and got that fitted and all was going well until the headgasket failed

so now the engine has been removed ready to be rebuilt, the bottom end looks fine, infact I would say its been rebuilt recently, the pistons are practically new and mint and the big end shells are also new so that wont need touching, just the head and turbo to sort out. Ive also sourced a short shifter and front strutbrace to go on after the rebuild is done and also now posess a stage 2 chip to go in aswell, all I need now is a T28 turbo so if anyone knows of one going give me a yell. (what should I ask for a great condition T25 that doesnt smoke?)
I did a bit more today being as I was off work for the day
Decided I would go down this afternoon and make a start.
1st job was to rip out all the aircon compnents as it didnt work anyway (man that pump is HEAVY!!) which then also enabled me to take a good look at the lower front cross member which on the S13 is prone to rotting out.
Mine thankfully was in good shape so I set about cleaning up the minor surface areas and zinc coating followed by red oxide coating. Just need to top coat that now.
Then I set about cleaning up the front subframe and power steering rack an associated pipework with gunk, its getting there and already looking much better, I got a bit bored so moved to cleaning the front passenger side of the engine bay and removed the PAS fluid reservoir and set about making it pretty, the colour sheme Ihave chosen for the engine bay is gold and black.
I think its gonna look just dandy when its done.
Thats all for now, will be doing more at the weekend.
