Well, I have decided to start a project thread finally.
The car is a 1989 RX7 Turbo 2 (UKDM) which I've had for just over a year now. Thanks to a speeding bannage last year I didn't get to drive it much though.

It was bough relatively standard bar some hackett, nasty chrome wheels and looked like this when KeiranE1 and his good lady Claire gratiousley gave me a lift down to Engerland to get it.

:
A clean and some 17" Panasports later and it looked like this
It has currently been sitting in my mate JP's tuning bay over the winter months undergoing a transformation from mild mannered street car into a proper hardcore drift beeatch. A lot of work is currently underway on the chassis, suspension and bodyshell in preperation for the abuse it is about to recieve (pics will follow shortly)
The engine itself will only be recieving minor tweaking this year but if all goes to plan something a bit more potent shall be in place next year.
Pics to date:
Interior has been completely stripped of all carpet, soundproofing and tar. I swear there must be about 20 kilos of that tar stuff in there

. Shell now being prepared for some seam welding and roll cage installation.
Front inner arches have had liners and any stonechip removed. Inner turrets and chassis has been seam welded and inner arches painted:
Front wishbones poly bushed (both sides done).
Rear arches have had lips rolled and flared to aid clearance of tyres.
NSR arch before flaring:

OSR arch after flaring approx 1.5 inches.
A Mazdaspeed 2-way, soon to be installed.
Front wings and bumper removed. New alloy wings (not in pic) now fitted in place of the old rusty steel ones. Some minor engine bay work on the go as well such as removal of the ABS, air-con and air pumps. Water pump replaced. Still to buy and fit new alloy radiator and build and install either a front mounted or v-mounted intercooler.
Lastly we have the DTSS eliminator bushes. Mazda introduced the Dynamic Tuned Suspension System (DTSS) :hammer: . DTSS allows each wheel to steer by itself based on how many Gs of cornering force the outside wheel is generating. Basically a very crude for of rear wheel steer. This is very, very gay and needs sorted. That is what these do. 8) They are a complete arse to fit apparently hence why they are still lying on my cabinet.
The 3.5" single exit chimney, built to let out all that sweet rotary turbo goodness.
Phew, that'll do for now, more pics as and when.
