| Not worth it unless you are trying to be 100% competitive. You could probably save about 20kg with basic stripping, maybe 50-60 if you went mental with fibreglass panels and removing important stuff. So it's easier to just drive a bit better.
Lots of people strip out cars because they think it's "drift" but the truth is, unless you are drifting a 120bhp sierra or similar, stripping out the interior isn't going to make a bit difference. Obviously some cars would benefit immensely from it, I saved nearly 200kg from my old BMW which made it a damn site faster but that was me driving a bare shell with lots of other mods, and it was a big BMW 5 series not a small sports coupe. |
