Finally got my spal electric fan, got some probally really dumb questions i need answering(remember im thick

Is there anyway of telling if the fan is a sucker or a blower by just looking at it or is it a case or wiring it up and finding out?
Also brought a fitting kit for it which included a relay and a amp connector, i was just going to wire it on a switch in the cabin, will i need to use them or not?
sorry there lame questions just i know nothing and i mean nothing about wiring
