Well, here she is, several of you will have read my thread. Basically, if you're 20, don't bother looking at buying it

(and yes it was on ebay the other day)
Here we have a 1984 Mazda RX7 Sl with a BMW M42 engine and gearbox shoe-horned in. This was done by the owner before last, who had owned the car for 19 years! (not entirely sure why, but its an interesting conversion for sure!) Its MOT'd until 23rd August 08, and Tax until 30/09/08.
Its generally in very good condition, I'll label the photo's.
There's a far amount of history with the vehicle, and its thoroughly been looked after! Lots of old MOT's, tax discs, and recepits for both BMW and Mazda parts from when work was done. Its also less rusty than my BMW, which is amazing for a 24 year old Japanese car!
This car has no power steering, but due to its weight, isn't particularly heavy, even at low speeds.
The interior is in very good condition, no real wear on any of the seats (the rear 'seats' look like they've never been sat in!). There's a lovely Sony headunit fitted with bluetooth, MP3 playback etc, thats probably worth 1/4 of the cars asking price! Everything is in good condition, the only thing that wants to be changed is the tacky (and loose) gearknob for a genuine BMW one.
All the buttons shall be explained to the buyer, but they ALL work, there are NO electrical problems!
Externally, the car is in good shape, with some slight bubbling (as seen in the photo's) on each sill, but this is light enough all it needs is wirebrushing down and repainting. The front arches are immaculate, and the rears have the paint lifting a little on the inside lip, which would need to be remove, wire brushed, and repainted to be spot on, I'm an avid hater of rust, and the arches are VERY good.
Also as shown in the photo's there's a section of the windscreen seal missing. The screen doesn't leak though, and while in the photo it looks like solid rust, its not, although, again, you'd be advised to take a wirebrush to the missing area and repainting before fitting a replacement seal.
The bonnet was professionally done, and while it looks a little garish in the photo's, isn't anywhere near as bad in real life, more imposing than garish, and carries a lot of street prescence. And having watched the temperature, that scoop seems to work very well as the temperature stays very low. The scoop clears the radiator, and the bulge clears the engine.
Tyres are still legal, but will need doing sometime soon - knowing you guys you'd stick some different rims on anyway!
The only other problem, and it can't be shown by a photo, is the gearbox, its all spot on apart from going into 4th gear. The synchro's are going, and if you're gentle it'll not crunch, or double clutch it, but otherwise it crunches, but, strangely, still slips in very easily!
Note the really good condition standard RX7 alloys
Here's the Engine, its all well laid out and not particularly hard to work on - these engines are fairly easy anyway.
Here's the underside of the bonnet, so you can see how it all fits/is done:
Here's the sunroof (it comes with the original bag to put the sunroof in, in the boot too!), its rust free, COMPLETELY, something I thoroughly checked before buying the car as this things would be a pain the the

if they were!
Shot from the back of the car, has original rear boot cover to hide contents, and straps the tighten over the spare wheels/other contents:
Inside - you can see how nice it all is, and just make out the ill-placed digital speedo by the steering wheel, on the left (because the main one doesn't work due to the diff):
Here's all the MOT's, tax discs, bills and receipts for work/parts:
And now onto the problems!
This photo shows the missing seal. From the way the photo has come out, it looks like there's rust HOLES in the edge, there aren't. Those are just dark patches! Its really nowhere near as bad as the photo's make it look...
Here's the bubbling on the nearside sill:
And the offside sill:
If anyone wants any more photo's of anything, let me know. I didn't feel the arches were worth doing, they're so good though!
I'm based in oxfordshire, near Bicester. My mobile is 0779 089 5556 and I want £500 for her.
I've clearly stated all and any problems with the car, unlike the previous seller did, and my only reason for selling her is due to insurance, I'd give a lot to keep her (but not £1900!), but there's no point!
Its a good, thoroughly fun car to own and drive. It makes you giggle going down the street when people turn and stare, and the whistle in the cabin (it sounds like a supercharger, but isn't) sounds fantastic when it accelerates. The nose is slightly heavier than with a rotary engine, and I've noticed it dives into corners slightly, but feels great, especially combined with a slightly loose back end, makes it lovely and easy to let the back step out slightly and catch it.
Thanks.
