I forgot to mention that I have also fitted the new water pump/cambelt/tensioner to the 2.5 engine and found a rad from an e36 318is with eleccy fan. not sure if it will fit yet but looks like it will be no problem, I will have a better idea when the engine is in.

papercutout - To memory, the diff oil should be 90w. And boy does it smell bad - I was draining mine earlier!
Nice work.
There's more to steering than more lock, if you can get quicker steering you'll benefit. Hence the E36/Z3 rack. But if you can get spacers on one of those too, it'll look pretty insane!

yeah that diff or tranny oil does stink ! uurgh

i have a z3 1.9 rack (same casing as e36 rack but 2.9 turns) winging its way to me but i dont know when it will be here, so for now i will just do the steering angle. hopefully then i can just swap the washers to the new rack when its converted.

i also want to make a bracket to drop the steering column - steering wheel is too high for my liking (feels like a truck/bus where the wheel is almost flat !)
