Imho, and thats it my opinion, just because an engine "can" make a amount of power on stock internals don't make it safe to do so, i mean the whole you can't run over 400bhp on a stock sr20, we ran 420bhp on a stock one without headgasket, now on the dyno it did go upto 450bhp, but i wouldn't leave it there, infact we sold the engine because i knew it was a ticking time bomb.
Sr20 will last all day long every day at 300-325whp allday long, as you go over that the engine will last but it needs rebuilds, its normaly down to not changing the oil ect and looking after it.
i mean i could pull the pipe off the actuator and make 500bhp for a few good mins..
