It wasn't modified. Not at least when I was there to see it.
All industry pool cars have a roll cage, be it a Mercedes B Class, or a Audi R8 (which as we all know famously melted away leaving just said cage).
The exhaust systems are almost constantly changed or not finished or whatever, but I can't comment as I didn't notice it to be honest!
Saurma didn't do many laps in the GT-R at all, and most of the times from Mags are a little slower for the same reason; Nissan's 'Ring Specialist had done hundreds of laps in the GT-R, if not thousands, and from the video was clearly absolutely on the limit with both lines ands balls to the wall speed.
I independently timed the V-Spec going round early last year with a stop watch and found it was lapping in 7:40, and it wasn't even finished, or really giving it the berries!
It's a bloody fast car, and all independant tests in the UK (DR has plenty of video evidence) of the GT-R being a faster car than the 911's (as an example benchmark).
