I just saw this thread!
I've only just started using 35mm (after using a digital point-and-shoot for ages), I'm finding it's an expensive and slow learning curve. I guess I'm still shooting like a digital camera - too many safety shots! I couldn't get any decent action pics at Rockingham, I wasn't 100% concentrating on shooting (I was watching a lot as well as toy-drifting) and the track was always obscured no matter which side I shot from ... didn't fancy elbowing my way to the front of the scrum on the pitroof either! Here's my favourite pic from Birmingham Wild Tracks - the defocused fence adds a nice effect I like the deep, rich blacks I get from film.

What are people's strategies for Silverstone in October?????? I've never been there before. Is there anywhere to get good low angle track shots?
