Ladies and gents
Please find below the details of driver eligibility for the 2011 season.
As we announced at the dinner dance, for 2011 season we will be running 3 classes over 2 day events. This will mean more seat time and more twin drifting for all.
We will be introducing the Super Pro Class for the 2011 season.
Super Professional class driver eligibility
The top 20 drivers from the Professional Class from the 2010 season
Additional driver eligibility;
1 —¸ EDC drivers from the 2010 season
2 —¸ Seeded drivers from Prodrift
3 —¸ Top 3 drivers from JDM All Stars 2010
4 —¸ Formula D Drivers
5 —¸ Any driver who has won a professional drifting event or championship since Jan 2008. These events and championships must be a recognized by the BDC.
6 —¸ Drivers from other championships **
**Any driver that believes that he/she is qualified to compete in the BDC super class on a competitive level should submit a profile/drifting CV for review. After review the driver will be notified by the BDC on the status of their request.
Drivers with insufficient experience or credentials will not be considered and will be notified, they may be issued with a Pro class licence. If that driver is deemed not to have insufficient experience for the Pro class they will be asked to attend a licensing day.
Driver promotion/demotion
After each event the top 4 finishers in the Semi Pro & Pro class will be given the chance to qualify in the higher class at the next round of the championship. If a driver chooses not to take the opportunity their place will not be offered to any other driver.
If the driver qualifies twice in the top 16 of the higher class within a season they automatically stay in that class.
The points scored in the class the driver started the season in, will not be taken forward in to the next class.
For the start of the 2011 season we will take the 4 drivers from below the top 20 of the 2010 championship standings, however due to there being a number of drivers on equal points they all will all be given the opportunity at round 1 to qualify in the Super Pro class.
The same will apply for the Semi Pro class, drivers placed in the 4 places below the automatic promotion positions will be given the chance to qualify in the Professional class at round 1 of the 2011 season.
In subsequent years the top 4 drivers that do not automatically qualify for the higher class will be offered the chance to qualify at the first event of the following year.
Annual driver promotion/demotion
The top 4 Pro drivers in the Professional class will automatically been given promotion to the Super Professional class.
The top 8 Semi Professional drivers will automatically be given promotion the Professional class.
Drivers who fail to score a single point in the Super Professional class during a season will be relegated to the Professional class for the following season.
If you have any questions or enquiries please fire away.
Licence renewal details will be announced this week.
Many thanks
The BDC team.
