    race suits??

Ive got a few questions on race suits for bdc if anyone can help? Theres a few different ones on the bdc regs page can anyone help me find out what suits are allowed?
I noticed a few ppl at sunderland with CIK-FIA Suits which i guess are karting suits? Are these allowed?

    Regs say

    Fia-1986
    Fia1856-2000
    En533-1995 index 3 (whats this)
    Bsen533 (whats this)
    Bs6249 Part 1 index a or b NOT C (whats this)

    Are CIK-FIA LEVEL 1 or 2 allowed?

    Anyone shed any light

    Many thanks

Yeah i know what your saying john but some ppl cant afford £300-500 for a suit and what im saying if kart suits are flame retardent which is cik-fia spec for £100-£300

    I understand the fia 1856-2000

But what are all the other specs?

If your going to compete then you got to meet the minimum safety regulations, if your going to cut corners on anything i'd advise it isn't on something that could save your life

I got lucky, I bought WelshMarts old race suit off him for £25 quid, it is a bit on the baggy side but does the job. Pretty sure he didn't pay much more than £100 for it brand new. Aint the best looking suit but I seen a few drivers wearing them, they made by HTH.

The numbers your asking about relates to the flame retardancy of the material.

I don't believe any karting suits are fire proof!
Rather spend the extra money and not melt worse comes to worse!

For BDC racing, you can use a fia race suit. It provides protection against heat and flames. You are asking about the Bsen533, it is the safety standards against heat and flame.
