Damn, my 'save Marcs fingers from wearing out' post didnt work.

So basically... if using standard subframe mounting points then no need for spreader plates but if the subframe is bolted to anywhere else on the floor then spreader plates are required.

if using the standard mountings you need to make sure that they are strong enough to take the strain but otherwise yes.

your concern for the wellbeing of my fingers is quite touching

Are road legal semi-slicks allowed for BDC, eg 888s etc? I'd like to use them on the front. I know its says 'no cut slicks' but I'm not sure of the terminology and what these actually are.

a048's and r888's etc are moulded tyres, not cut slicks. They are e-marked and legal for road use.

Forgive me if its already been covered/I am being thick, does the rule about having to disable boot locks and add boot pins/springs apply to those of us with batteries in the boot (i.e. all BMWs), or is it only people with fuel/nos systems (i.e. highly flammable stuff) that it applies to?

We will be amending the rule re boot locks.

As Mr Carter stated earlier, the EDC said the boot need only be accessible if it contains anything that could be hazzardous. The BDC will opereate the same rule.

Many thanks

The BDC team.

3-21. Catch tanks for oil and water must be installed and securely fastened with its contents easily visible on inspection.
I currently have an oil catch tank however it has no sight/level on it - will this need to be changed?

Also, where would an water catch tank come from? Is the stock radiator expansion bottle sufficient?

can i quadruple check yet again.. as i want to be crystal with this:

My harness has no visable FIA markings (its a border 4 point). It does however meet the same specs as the DW TRS ones.. (3" straps, computer controlled stitching, aero buckle and reinforced joins).

do i REALLY need to spend another £120? i thought Border was a good make. And i have alot of outgoing cash atm.

that would have to be answered by whoever is scrooting at the events - effectively a harness needs to have a FIA label to be approved but if you can convinve the scroot that that one conforms .......

Just about to buy a 6 point 3" sabelt harness, FIA approval ran out end of 2007. This would be fine as long as it shows no signs of damage, correct? I've asked a couple of times but understand it getting snowed under by other questions. Cheers.

Mike, my catch can consists of a 'fruit shoots' (or similar) bottle with the breather pipe wedged int he top and some holes peppered around the top. Its translucent enough to see any oil in it. ANd it passed EDC scrutineering

just to clarify the situation

as the scrutineer for EDC - i agreed with mark (sweeps) that i'd keep an eye in here and answer some regs questions where i can but i'm not actually connected with BDC and so cannot answer borderline questions as this will be the decision for the BDC scroot not me - especialy in the AM cars as we do not have an equivilent set of regs.

and no , at this stage i do not know who will be

I hope you understand the situation - basically i cannot make decisions for BDC
