| F*ck your EGO. ![]() | Fire Extinguisher Nozzles Exactly where have people pointed the nozzles from their plumbed in system? I've sorted a location pointing into the driver's face , the one in the engine bay has to be at the location most likely to catch fire yarr? On an SR20 thats usually around the turbo as the oil feeds split and pee hot oil all over the wrapped manifold and it all goes up in smoke. However didn't EDC used to specify that the nozzle had to point at the fuel side of the engine - i.e intake manifold/fuel filter/injectors? |

| In a two nozzle system, one goes over the drivers footwell, covering the drivers legs up to the knee, the 2nd goes over the inlet side of the engine (the fuel side). One in your face is'nt a good thing . These things can go off by accident, and being able to see while driving is pretty handy ![]() |

| I'd always have one pointing towards the turbo area. If I had had mine aimed at the inlet side on my old 180, it may well have burnt to a crisp at Santa Pod ![]() ![]() And a bit lower than the face, or you'll be getting a right money shot ![]() ![]() |

| F*ck your EGO. ![]() | Your incident Mitch, plus the fact that my car has already had a small fire in exactly that position, make m want to position a nozzle there. Does anyone know if you can buy the nozzles/t-piece and extra pipe seperately? I'd like to run a 3 nozzle system. |

| Pimms O'clock ![]() | I'd suggest the hot side of the engine on SR20's they always seem to go around the oil dipstick turbo area, oil also burns a bit better where fuel seems to get consumed up rapidly. Mines on the hot side of things on the Soarer, fuel supply is on the cold side so a leak as less likely to go up in the first place. Aim the interior nozzle at your feet, its there incase you get trapped I suppose, which is most likely the worst case scenario |

| dorifto kingu! ![]() | can someone give me general advice of fitting the system? I'm gotta get some friends to help me with the pull cables and nossles etc... but just location wise? i was thinkin passenger footwell, next to transmission tunnel, with the handle at the 'foot' end?.. but think i may have problems getting the cables to 'work' |

| dorifto kingu! ![]() | yeah same here. which is why i was going for the passenger footwell. that tubing has to go to the engine bay via driver footwell from what i understand and i think you only get 2m of it. EDIT: just offered up the fire extinguisher to passenger foot well and there is a 'brace' running verticaly over the transmission tunnel, is it ok to remove part of it? or is it vital part of the chassis etc? I'm now warming to the rear footwell behind driver.. any one got pics of their install in an s14??? Last edited by FlikstRR : 02-01-2008 at 15:31. |
