BDC/EDC reg roll cage padding??!

sounds mad but im having a bit of a nightmare finding padding for the cage. I found one place but want to triple check before forking out.

It says in the BDC rules .pdf that you need padding in the front etc... So i was gonna pop off to the local B&Q, being the tight arse i am, for some of the pipe lagging stuff.... but im informed it melts rather well

can someone post me a link to a few uk outlets that stock some?? Im hoping it wont cost the earth too lol but why skimp on saftey i guess!

cheers guys

Is it a case of you not wanting to use the b&q stuff, or the fact you cant?

(btw, Peter had 1 s14 cage left, so no need to wait yay)

Remember that pipe lagging insn't intended for protecting parts of your anatomy bouncing off it. I ordered mine from the DW shop a while back, and I think they still sell it...

Yeah i`m with mitch, if you use pipe lagging and hit your head you`ll be hurt really bad. Maybe not on track but i bet you don`t wear a helmet when you drive on the road. Or your passengers for that matter.

Do it right, do it once.

phil and others,

just found this on the BDC regs

"Please note: The above drawings are for indication purposes only and are not to scale and must be not be
construed as the correct angles. Each vehicle that requires cage modifications should speak with the Technical
Officer of EDC/BDC in advance of any modifications. Parts of roll cage within 150mm of occupant’s helmets
must be fitted with fire resistant padding."

does this mean FIA???

So basically we just need one on the front and one on the side near the drivers head.
