I know plenty of mappers that do it that time of night, as they wanna map it properly, ie on the road...

Yeh? Really? If you say so Steve it must be the law

Fact is, if it WAS being mapped on a dyno it probably wouldnt have blown cos the monitoring equipment is better

really unlucky gary, would have leant you mine, as you had hinted to me, but with no working wand and no viscous on it, especially in the conditions, it was probably best you didnt.

GL with the repair.

LOL, you say on the road, AFTER mapping. So it wasnt 'during' the mapping as originally posted

After mapping when i posted i didnt no the facts only it went bang,so my post was put up in hope if getting a drive at really short notice, not a factual statment but a desperate one,it was not ment as an open house to have a pop at any mapper mechanic or what ever,i wasnt privi as to why the car failed only i had no drive for the week end,so please dont read any more into the post than that !! i now no the reason for falier nothing to do with the mapper or mechanic who are both superb at what they do,thats why i use them and will continue to do so,anyway thats enough said, the car will be ready for round 2,and will be pushing over 500 bhp lol, so bring it on

What failed on it gary?

Should be a total weapon when its back in top form

Matt-

Road mapping can be as good, if not better for some applications, than rollers and the monitoring equipment can be the same for both to. Like anything though, use someone shonky and it goes tits up. Garys guy is top notch but someone on here not long ago had their car killed by a mapper on the rollers because he wasnt monitoring det!!!! Also he was told "no deal" on them fixing his engine and he didn`t name and shame!
