Are any Rounds Available

Silly question but i'm new to all this.

Just got my BDC Am license and wanted to know what the crack is to get competing. I've pm'd BDC to put my name on the reserve's list. Just wondered if there are any competitions that aren't full yet.

Sorry if this has been covered 1million times.

BDC will be along to confirm it soon but I think there are no places left in Am and there is a fairly big reserve list.

Hope that helps.

Yeah that helps cheers. Just one more question on top.

Does that mean if they are all full this year is there a waiting list for next year or is it first come first serve?

if you paid for round one then u get first refusal for all the other round iirc and then if somoen does pay or drops out on the day then it goes to the first in line on the reserve list ... not sure how it will go for next year ... sucks as i paid for round one but then had to cancel and get my money back

ahem, who paid for your round 1?

you do have an option for competing, check out the bdc website for details of the British open which is being held the day after round 6 (now at Llandow). Its open to everyone so maybe you can get a place?

Yeah but the car needs to be up to Pro spec. It's going to be hard to do that as i'm changing jobs next week. Weekly pay - Monthly is going to kill me

i was ready too, but round 1 payment fell in the first month of my new job and i only got my basic, which would have just covered the cost of competing, let alone bills and food for a month!!!

Ladies and gents

As we stated at the start of the season, drivers who competed at round one were given priority booking for round two, and then round three, we are running a championship which drivers from all areas wish to compete, not just attend events in their local area.

This will continue through out the season, the only event that will be open to everyone will be the British Open as mentioned in this thread (rules apply).

There is a long reserve list for the Am class this season, however, some drivers will be moving up to the Pro-Am class next season. Details of how this will work will be realised later in the season. This will open up spaces for more amateurs to join the championship in 2009.

Many thanks

the BDC team
