MASSIVE toe in. less/more grip going sideways?

ok so hear me out, since i slammed my car, it just doent want to go sideways, its a stage 2 japspec CA, running s15 t28 actuator boost (.4 and peaks to .5)
it fucking struggles to do a roundabout in 2nd on the dry :s -7.5 rear camber, 40psi in the rears.
it goed pretty well in a straight line (doesnt wheel spin shifting to 2nd flat out, weird since it used to do it all the time when i just got it?) changed the coilovers for JIC's wich shouldnt really matter right?

engine wise i havent changed a bit, pulled the saab FMIC off to fit my other fmic, wich didnt fit so put the saab back, put my Apex rad in, changed the exhaust (for one that should have more flow, from invidia 3" with 2 silencers to 3" turbo back with 1)

its not slow, but it doesnt skid half as good as my old s13 wich only had a filter exhaust and a stage 1 chip :\

your saying it DOES have loads of toe in?

just make it 0* toe or tiny tiny bit of toe in. Ive always ran toe in in the past but i think thats why my car has always felt gutless and like its bogging down and trying to straighten out.

    -7.5 cambers is pretty boss

If it has loads of toe in, then it'll be trying to push each wheel inwards against eachother, rather than just straight forwards. The outer wheel on a drift will also fight to keep the car straight rather than allowing it to slide.

Just stop being a retard and adjust your geometry.

When in doubt - clutch kick.

yes it has ALOT, i have aligned it, but the stock rear control arms dont give enough adjustability. Im currently waiting on adjustable ones, but thought id ask anyway

@kevin, yea haha 6.33 on fronts 7,5 in the rears xD. Driving it in a straight line in the wet is pretty much impossible too. EATS rear tires too

The outer wheel on a drift will also fight to keep the car straight rather than allowing it to slide.
that makes sence, best be getting those arms on ASAP when they are here! and then off for new alignment. fronts are minimal toe in, rears 0 or slighty in aswell?

you will screw less tyres when you set your toe correct in the rear. toe kills tyres lots faster than the camber does, for normal driving

Dex, you're a knob, course it won't skid with massive rear toe in. If you want it sorted ASAP whilst you're waiting for your new arms to turn up then just cut the old ones down and reweld them back shorter, but only if you've got someone with a man sized welding plant

If I disagreed with you, and gave actual examples from real experience of why that isn't the case, can we still be friends lol ? Or would it be the usual DW gayness ?

    LOL if it comes to that I'll just let you guys crack on but;

In most cases you can see from the wear which is the likely culprit. If the wear is smooth and a very small area, like less than an inch wide, it's camber. A larger area srubbed is toe.

Thing is; if the toe is a little "wrong", it'll scrub an area of the tyre (toe in does the outer edge, toe out the inner edge) but if the toe is really bad, like degrees, it'll distort the whole tyre, making one edge of a tread block sharper and the opposite edge smoother.

Camber does wear tyres but think of it this way:

0 camber and 0 toe = best tyre economy as they're under less friction

0 camber and 5 degree toe in or out = fast tyre wear

-4 degree camber 0 toe = normal tyre wear just concentrated into the inside strip of the tyre

@ CIH true. but... im running so much camber, i only use the inner inch of my tire, so regardles of the amount of toe in, its allways gonna wear the inside, but ALOT more becasue the tire "drags" because the toe in

like Jaymo says, thats exactly how i belive it works. Hence: Camber wears tires like normal, toe in EATS tires

Man. I would be so pissed if my tyres I'd bought brand new came off like that. What the hell are you playing at man?

Why dont u swap the tire onto the other rim before it gets like that? So the worn edge is then outside. You will get double the mileage.

plus the tyre is rotational so you can't swap it over the the other side

That tread pattern looks pretty symetrical to me? Take the tyre off that rim and put it on the other rim on the other side?

Im not talking about running it backwards
