| dorifto kingu! | i am!!! man, i wish i was kept in the loop lol. Maybe we need to get more formal with this and arrange me and rob to be CC'd into emails about details. Info is a bit up in the air at the moment as i, tbh, had no idea since i was not informed formally. But no problems there. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Today i stripped all the heater stuff out, aircon condenser, the wire loom(20kg), door cards, brake pedal, clutch pedal, abs unit and all brake lines, the master cylinder and boost cylinder, clutch cylinder, fuse box's, this now is all skipped never to be seen again. Considering how much this car was stripped already to compete, id say around 50kilo has been removed this weekend. still to remove are the fuel lines.....and fuel tank... some non essential metal work to be trimmed away and ditching the steel bonnet, and of course the heavy 6 cylinder engine! then its off to be sandblasted inside, back to metal in preperation for the weld in cage to replace the TRD bolt in cage Last edited by DriftLexus : 20-11-2005 at 19:35.

Wow really impressed with the build - I can only guess the costs involved on the whole project. Out of interest can I ask why you didnt consider shoe horning a 3SGTE in the engine bay? Shorter block, so it would sit further back for better weight distribution. Easily modified and tuned for power. You culd hit 400 with nothing much more than some forgies, ECU, Injectors, suitable turbo and IC. Would have probably been less hassle to get the power you want than the GE? Still a turboed Beams engine will be very cool! Good luck with it all!

a 3s-ge and 3s-gte are the basically the same blocks.so they are the same size, only difference is the cast holes and lugs on the outside of the block the reason that the gte wasnt used, was the beams engine hgas a far better head design, the engine would need some serious work to make it fit front/rear configuration, there is no engine mount location on the turbo side of the engine. the sump is designed for transvers, so a sump oil pickup, baffle and bottom cover would need to be sourced, the heads oil ways were tapped to run the oil back in a transvers set up, front rear, would sit the engine upright and oil drain wouldnt be as effective. the gte uses a dizzy, this would be fouled on the bulkhead, the coolant pipes are all in the wrong place. the gearbox doesnt bolt straight up as the flywheel isnt compatable with the 6 speed is200/altezza gearbox, as a knock on the flywheels are different, so the altezza one cannot be used on the gte crank the beams uses titanium valves the beams has nitrated crank so, even though at first, the gte looks a good option, its equally as pissy to install....

well 3 hours later and the engine is out, all the brake lines are now removed, all the fuel system is completely removed, all that is still left to remove.....is the rear subframe so i can build it up, brace it and generally beef it up, before getting it powder coated. some pics.. Engine out, suspended on (possibly massive overkill) a 10 ton overhead crane ![]() The fuel system, handbrake cable and fuel tank....now in the skip ![]() Lots of space underneath...where the fuel tank used to be...... ![]() i recon on calculations today (not including engine) that at least another 70 kilo has been ditched in the skip considering how lowered the car was before......the tyres were level with the arch tops, the arch gap is now....nearly 10cm hmy: i think im gonna have to get new springs wound.......or i am gonna have to chop another coil or 2 of these TTE coilovers (defo not recommended for road use) Thanks Tony4 for giving me a helping hand Last edited by DriftLexus : 27-11-2005 at 20:12.
