Zillalife / Garage 21 S15 Drift Car Vehicle has now had a ground up rebuild at Garage 21 in Coventry - Skip to page 17 onwards {}
yes origionally, live in coventry now as i work for JLR. but visit swansea every 2weeks to see my lil boy.
Fans fitted, Thermostat was shit so i hardwired it to a switch, anyone use a good thermostat? Next on the list is big engine bay overhaull. Painting the rocker cover Painting the Intake plenum Gettin a metal hard pipe Samco hoses for boost lines bla bla bla lol And some ultra light wheel nuts!!
Looking really good, lovin the alloys. Pm me how much you want for the good/shit thermostat posted to Teeside. I have mine hard wired but I know I'll forget sometime and fry the engine. cheers
SR cooling rule number one - NEVER EVER REMOVE THE VISCOUS FAN!!! Seriously, put it back on and put the fans inside the cowling.
Dont twin fans work as good as the viscous? I removed it as it over heats when skidding as its not drawing enough air?? (because i dont go fas enough lol), Few of my mates run s15's with twin fans. Is the viscous that good? Plus i found that the car's ecu turns on the live fan loom at 95oC so i have now wired in a relay with a constant live to take the extra load when the ecu switches it on.
the viscous is amazing, assuming it works properly. If you want to stop the over heating, dont run your car constantly, do one lap dori, one cool. It'll be ok like that all day. best upgrades are - koyo copper rad, remove air con, fit air diffuser / tunnel from IC to rad, additonal fan on a switch, standard viscous and couling, nismo low temp thermostat and use water wetter. Thats the exact parts i use, under massive ass kicking loads it sits happily at 80*c
Well i fitted the viscous and the twin fans ready for pembrey on sat, I have wired the twin fans to a switch on the dash and i can turn them on for track/drift days. Had no issues atall with cooling! my water stayed between 80-90 oC and my oil stayed at 110-120 oC (with cooler) all day. It was 20oC heat as well happy days.
Small update i have bought a hydro etc just getting a bucket set soon and i will mount the handbake to that! in the mean while here are somce recent skid pics.
its a mocal one dude! goot piece of kit and a good price think there is a dealer selling some on ebay.
Just fitted some 20mm spacers to the rear! have some 10mm for the front on order. I want to lower the rear some more but i have to get some stiffer springs as im running 6-4 and the exhaust will deck out if i go any lower! Time for an 8-6 setup. Well here are some pics after some arch flareing and some 20mm spacers! Before After
