Recently i was searching for a oldschool nissan, i came across this, 1987 Nissan Laurel C32 2.4, 94k, manual, no rust, literally 0% rust for a price i couldnt turn down.

Plans are, for the time being, just to slam it, BUT i need some advice from all of you that have experience with relics.

I heard somewhere that if you swap pieces from a s13 you can fit the coilovers as i dont really want to chop the springs.

So any advice would be greatly appreciated cheers.

s13 suspension swap is hassle and costly. get some springs made up, costs about £100 and you can spec your rate and drop.

system 2 do (or did) dampers. i ran stupidly high spring rates on mine and it elimitated body roll which you need to do.

engine wise get over to z-club and hook yourself up a stainless manifold (£50-£100 used or new from traders on there) then get an exhaust made up. search 240z exhaust noise on youtube....you will jizz yourself. L24 sounds awesome. if you are feeling flush bang a triple webber carb setup on there and get yourself a nice cam off zclub. you can get 200bhp out the engine if you hardcore it up but a simple exhaust, manifold, filter, carbs and cam will see 160-180 with an awesome noise.

Nice one cheers for the advice:thumbs:

I think the springs will be the easiest step at the moment but just for future reference what would you need and how would you go about the s13 swap?

alternatively find a 280zx turbo and fit that in. simple. engine wise:

    L24E, what you got
L26, 260z engine and the only L series N/A worth swapping as all the others make less power than the L24
    L28ET, 180bhp turbo engine.

you will basically need hubs and all arms and a bit of fabrication. and a steering rack as well i think.

get some 650lb springs on the front and some 500lb on the rear, match to some good dampers and it will handle real good

So i started gathering parts for the suspension switch, most of the parts i got off here so i just wanna say a big thanks to everyone that replied to my wanted threads (cant remember all your names sorry:()

Anyway i got, s13 hubs, disks, calipers, pads, flexis and cusco coilovers.
I also got r32 track rods and tie rod ends.

So one sunday me and my mate got to work on the old girl, and ill tell you for a 23 year old car, most of the bolts were fairly easy to remove.

The rear coliovers were very simple, but me and my mate decided it wasnt the lowness i was going for so wer customised it and when we let the jack down we got this.

Next we started on the fronts which were more complicated, but we got everything hooked up and ended up with this.

Smaller tyres and arch roller are required fairly urgently.

All thats left is to finish torquing up the hubs and bleed the brakes, then its time for the road test, gonna be fun getting out of the unit

Ill find out during the testing mate, but its never going to be a daily, its just a fun project which i can learn from :)

No fabrication at the moment mate, and most things are connected up and ready to go.
