This is a project of one impressive volvo atleast I think so, he thought the project was out of Driftworks league but i tried to convince him otherwise, since he has a good craftmanship and doing his own ideas.
    Lets start...

He has owned the car for 7years and was mainly intended for drag but he loved smoking tires and did his first practice/comp 2009
    166569-1578124.

Then he bought alot of wheels
    811334_nsxbbd.

    Drifting in bivaröd
    166569-1578172.

Almost up to date picture of the engine
    166569-1578186.

The whole started with a exhaust manifold on his other car.

    Exhaust wrapped
    [IMG]

405 head, with 46/40 valves, abit of porting, alu washers and a 324degrees camshaft
    [IMG]

Bottom end is a B230FK with oilsquirters, half concrete filled bottom end, 97mm pistons, I dont know how to translate it but its a special 2.5l crank
    [IMG]

    H-profile and custom Wiseco pistons
    [IMG]

29mm timingbelt with steelpulley on the cank and adjustable camgear
    [IMG]

Flywheel, with something done to it so it will last better
    [IMG]

The clutch is a Sachs race 200mm twin plate clutch
    [IMG]

Next step was to buy a set of ITB´s from a bmw m3 e30, nice stuff but didnt actually fit the volvo so he had to weld and port them.

Not a very good fit is it? but the end result will be good.

Here it is done and sandblasted waiting for some paint
    [IMG]

    Fitted after painting
    [IMG]

    Engine is almost done
    [IMG]

He also went on and build a heat exhanger so the oil and water whould be around the same temp
    [IMG]

Kylaren inmåttad, tror den kommer från någon opel med V6, med omsvetsade gavlar och termostatgivare osv.

    The fuelrail is done
    [IMG]

He has also done some milling on the box, I dont know why.

Gearbox in place with a custom mount, uprated hardyplate to a M5 3,8 and 12-9 bolts

    More to come

I will ask how much power it makes

In Sweden many volvo owners drills the driveshafts to make them take hard abuse but it didnt work for dannej, both snapped at the same time :p
    [IMG]

This is dannejs newly built garage imo its awsome and tidy.

He tested diffrent camshafts before he decided what to use on the hx40
    [IMG]

Alot of work on the shims
    [IMG]

This is a common thing on drifting volvos doubble anti roll bars
    [IMG]

Since he is using adjustable rods that changes the angles he made som modifications on the "bridge"

    23mm ARB
    [IMG]

The wheels were diffrent hole pattern etc
    [IMG]

Changin from 5/120 to 5/108, just weld and tap new holes.

Ok I will show you the front of the suspension.

Using volvo 960 v90 hubs, with those you adjust the KPI (Kingpin), and they are alot easier to build coilovers on.

    Ambulance brace
    [IMG]

    Another brace
    [IMG]

And making hes own rods with uniball for caster and camber correction

CNC machined shit for the coilovers :)

    Coilover kit from SAM (expensive)

Well it was alot of text from his orignal thread on Swedish but he is trying to build some badass knuckles to correct ackerman, lock and positive camber when the damper compresses.
He had to adjust the lowerarms since he lowered the car so much, to correct bumpsteer etc

Prototype and he made alot of calculations using cad
    [IMG]

This is the first test prototype
    [IMG]

Anyway driveshafts bought orginal to the left 27splines and dana 35 with 30splines they are sold with the spec 40-45% harder
    [IMG]

After 2days of cad he gave up and wanted to try it for real.
Here can you see where the tierod going to end up, he cut it open so he could slide and see where the best setting for the lock.

Here is the prototype for lower arm to know how the final product should be.

Incrediawesome. What wheels are those, you said they were changed from 5x120 to 5x108? Brock B1s? Racing Dynamics RGPs?
