hey guys, bought myself a new fd a while ago but i havnt really started a project thread on here yet

got her for a bit of a steal with a few problems. started working my way through when i got her home just to get it up and running again. but i was soon to discover a few majors i hadnt expected plus there was a crack in the chassis at the front!. so after a little while scratching my head out came the angle grinder and the welder

plans for the car are just have some fun really, i love building as much as driving so i am in no rush, i am trying to do as much myself as possible so progress is slow

whats the car aimed at, drifting, hill climbing, time attack, track days?

just thinking this is about the time now where you need to be thinking about whether you want a cage or not

its just gonna be something to have some fun in when i get chance, id like to do a little drifting and maybe a few track days. i will be putting a cage in but im only going for a bolt in i think

if your going bolt in then robrs on fduk has a pretty extensive one for £500 thats for sale, id go for something like that.

what colour you gonna paint it, im going for white with kawaski green 12in wide wheels on the back

my new shell is all GRP(arches,doors,bonnet, boot) with full msa cage in and should weigh 1000kg fully built ready to rock.

id imagine since you arnt carrying such a mad cage as me you will be able to get it very very light....if i was you i would aim for 950kg, that way you wont need massive power to kick some ass on track

a few tiny updates for you guys, the project is really gonna start moving fast in the next few weeks















ready for top coat and lacquer this week, then all running gear back on. waiting on lots of nice parts to arrive so lots of late nights and trips to the depot to come
