Thought Id start a nice thread for my new project.

Its the Ginetta g28 from the for sale section and it looks fugly.

Looks to be on capri running gear with a carbed 2.8 fitted, I dont know enough about old fords to give much more information that that tho

First impressions are that the suspension is clearly the orginial 1987 stuff so all of the bushes are knackered and the steering is a bit vague. Other than that though it certainly doesnt weigh a lot and is pretty nippy.

Plans are to weld the diff up after christmas then throw in some polybushes, fix up any leaks etc and get it reliable for its first drift day in january

Other than that im thinking of putting in s13/14 running gear with either a ca18 or sr20 depending on funds mainly purely down to power, reliability and most importantly aftermarket support

Or it might just get a 24v cosworth lump in

Amazingly ugly, but amazing because of it.

FUCK changing the engine, it weighs fuck all and has a carb fed 2.8, stick with it, fuck changing everything and making it complex to run injection and some average and not cheap Nissan lump, enjoy the very basic big capacity but fairly poo engine.

If you want lots of power, fit a blow thru carb and turbo the fucker, 300bhp isnt hard, but that thing weighs nowt so even with bolt-on N/A upgrades youd have plenty for such a light car.

Looks tidy now its had a wash, gutted I didnt buy it now, lol.

:-D big praise but I don't entirely understand.

It's barely been driven so it seems to be clearing itself out a bit now its done a 100mile trip.

First things are to tidy up the car all over as its been neglected, then sort out the suspension and start skidding it. Then upgrades will follow depending on how it goes.

I've not got the funds to pour a couple of grand into it before it even gets driven. So everything will be functional

Cut everything between the headlights out,should look alot better.
Looks like you've got 108 pcd aswell so you can grab a set of 13"-14" dished minilites for it for nothing and should look pretty cool.
I like square cars.
Stick with the engine you've got, plenty powers.!

Has it got Pug 205 headlights and alloys? Anyway cool project, think the front would look a whole lot better if you just cut some slats in and paint them black. Will look less slab faced.

Think the headlights are from a mk3/4 escort and the wheels look like 205, they speedlines and the rears have ginetta centre caps but that could mean anything.

I've seen full polybush kits mentioned at 100 but can't find where from yet as dw is over 200.

Diff welding and void bushes to be done ASAP :-)

heh heh I like it. Front end looks loosely similar to Foxbody Mustang IMO.
I think thses use mk2 fiesta doors.
