after getting a spin in mates m3 i decided to go back to mpower.had some spare change after my 18th so sold my 180sx and bought this 1998 m3 evo smg 89,000 miles full bmw service history
i then pulled her into the shed and went about destroying it! started off by selling the leather interior and pulled it out next job was sound deadining removal then took out the sunroof at this stage i went a bit mad with the grinder
then the coilovers arrived so threw them in set the ride height boss and handbrake arrived taking air con out so this is the stage i am at now.next job is to do a bit more grinding on inside then remove the engine and box and get her converted to manual!
threw the rear shocks and springs in put steering wheel on so car can be moved then these arrived so put them on before after
some rims i have gathered up 8X 17" 8j style 32s 2X 17" 9j style 32s 2X 18" 8.5j breyton magics 2X 18" 9.5j breyton magics
got a bit more done to the car 25mm spacers arrived for the front also got longer studs and 20mm spacer to slip over top of 50mm spacer for the wheels that wont be modified tried to get more lock so modified knuckles and lengthened bottom arms which gave me about 50 degrees of lock put spacers on and dropped it made a solid steering bush
took the smg pump and box out undersealed it so this is the stage i am at now.the cage will hopefully be fitted in the next few weeks and then it will be getting some special arch work!
why no coilies on the back mate? I take it ur swapping th smg for a manual whilst its out? nice looking car
how come you've removed all the rear strength by cuting the rear bulk head? full metal spec cage going in? why buy a smg and remove the box? why not a normal m3? gonna watch this build with interest, hope your building a mad car not recking a cool one to start with!
Where did you get that hand brake? and whats it called? looks immense! Keep up the good work m8, I'll be following this!
cutting the back shelf out ment i can put the cage to the rear struts!cage will more than make up for it! i bought an smg because it was far cheaper, cleaner and lower milage than any manuals in the same price range and the engine shouldnt have had as much abuse as a manual!
i am getting my 8" wheels made into 9.5" so i will run just the 50mm with them and the 70mm with everything else so all have similar fitment!it will take the crazy amount of spacers to fill the arches we have in mind!
got it off ebay mate!not sure whats its called but we have had a few of these and they are very strong so would recommend one!thanks!
Yeah they look sweet them handbrakes I've just been checkin them out now What bimma are them wheels off? Are they deep dsh 5series? Keep it up m8!
