After doing a part x on my 540 not long after getting back from awesomefest for another 540, and then part x'ing that for an s14 which i drifted briefly but wasnt for me, i decided i should just go back to what i know and like, so an e36 m3 with some spec was the only choice.

I had a 3.0 coupe sitting with good running gear but it was rotten, and not worth saving. having had coupes and 4 doors in the past i was keen todo something dofferent, looked at tourings and even z3's but nothing was floating my boat... then realised we had a mint shell in for breaking....

For 143k this s50 ran sweet as a nut, rod bearing sheels and crank journals were in real good shape for the mileage. happy days!

but still wanted to replace big end bearings and fit ARP main bolts. Also got an evo sump, with twin pickups and pump to go on, and will be fitting the group N oil restrictor valve too before it all goes into the vert.

bought a couple bits to make it look cooler, a hard top and some wheels...

first job was removing everything todo with that horrible rag top. que plasma cutter... turns out the metalwork around the roll over protection bars is pretty substantial!

been waiting for all the suspenion/brake/engine parts to arrive so squeezed the vert in between jobs wherever possible and got started on the cage.

took some time before starting the rear half of the cage to build some turrets so i can run proper coilovers on the back, and removed all the irrelevant brackets ect left from removing the rear bulkhead.

Next up, loads more tubes! :D

    bearings are now done..

shit picture i know but u can just see the red and blue die on side of new shells, corresponds to rod or cap side.

    fitted ARP cap bolts too..

got the evo oil sump and pump with twin pickups fitted.

spot welded the pump sprocket on dont ant that coming off!

evo sump fitted and auxilary air pump binned off.

this little chap bolts into the head under the exhaust manifold, so had to blank the port off.

Next up was the Group N restrictor valve, so strip some of the to end down to get in...

    remove this little grub screw..
And the cap and studs on one cam lobe.

should have taken a better pic, but that shiny alloy thing at the end of the bronze special tool (rb25 turbo elbow bolt lol) was..... £75. yep they seen me coming.

all fitted up now, just need to replace a few hoses while its apart and start building it back up.
