A couple of things need to be done to the car for it to be perfect:

+Needs a paintjob to be fully badass.
+Master cylinder needs to be replaced I THINK (clutch sometimes sticks)
+ Some form of fuel cut defender as it can hit fuel cut when it boosts past .9bar ( restrictor ring supplied so would be half hour fix)

It is a savage car and makes me smile everytime I drive it, and spins up federal 595's as if you were driving on ice.

Car comes with 9 and a bit months MOT 3 and a bit months tax!!

Temperatures always stayed the same, starts first time, awesome car!

got the HID's working all good.. and havent hit the fuel cut that was mentioned in the ad just as of yet.. but got a restrictor ring to fit sometime..

horn all working now and it has a power steering leak... so i know this might seem a bit extreme.. but the engines coming out just so i can see/check if there is anything else that need doing.. and it stops me taking it out for a naughty drive with no insurance etc... haha!

the engines pretty much ready to be pulled from the mounts now... i know a threads pretty useless without pictures.. but been pretty ill and not got many at the mojo and wasted a few days not doing anything..

well finally got the engine out... :o

    geting it ready

    hooking it up

pulllllll..... and pop.. out she comes..

then made a big ass list of things to do while it was out... some not needing to be done but others were more important..

then after getting a quote from toyota for the bits minus the fluids etc... for £900+ i thought id skimp down the list...

now just waiting for a power steering pump seal set, gasket set for the entire engine, oil filter, cam belt and tensioner..

and that was still £300+ :( and i still need fluids and to seal the power steering rack...

so gonna take the rack apart next and juts buy a random copper washer kit and see what i can match up..

then still have the problem of the clutch pedal not returning properly when i go balls out.. only doesnt return by 20mm or so but i have to return it with my foot.. any ideas? could it either be clutch master cylinder or slave... or something to do with the twin plate clutch? or just not being bled properly.. heard they can be a bugger to bleed? any ideas would be helpfull!

now just waiting on bits for the next update!

    OHHH HELLO HKS CLUTCH

and took the rocker covers off.... and it was full of shit and sludge.. :( so its all coming apart and getting cleaned
as the head gaskets getting done :)

yeah pretty much found what i need now and its on the way..

started to strip the engine down.. inlet manifold and that was easy to rip off...

but the turbos were interesting and still havent done it.. but not sure what this clamps called but i pulled it and it fell off
and left a gap between the turbos.. found it had no nuts on it.... :o guessing she would had been loosing plenty of boost..

    heres the clamp?

that was it for the day and waited for bits to turn up...

today,.. cambelt and cambelt tensioner and the power steering pump seal set turned up...

now.. bearing in mind i have pretty much bugger all knowledge of anything mechanical and im just having a go..

i decided to take the power steering pump apart and re-seal it! :o

    seal set

how shitty it was at the start... ewww (kind of took over the kitchen worktops.. haha)

and then just started taking the pump to pieces trying to match the seals i had in the bag..

then started to clean it all up :o and heres the end result :o

    some bits looked new :)

then seeing all the cases and covers... kind of thought it was a shame not to paint it :o
so masked or bits that looked like they wouldnt like paint in them..

    hung bits up :)

    and then primered them

and how my kitchen looked after...

so tomo going to paint the primered bits black... and then re build it all with the new seals and hope it works!

well painted all the bits that i primered yesterday...

then re built it bit by bit

first off was a new oil seal

then to set up ready to push the bearing in

bearing pushed in and new cir-clip

and then other bits which i dont know what they are called..

then im going to call this the pump fin housing??

fins going in (was quite cool to see how it all worked)

and then a washer thing which keeps tension (thought it was buggered when i first took it appart)

    more new seals

and one fresh newly sealed pump :)

fingers crossed it works as it should when it all goes back on.. :)

hopefully more work going on in the engine next!

but basically got the turbos off :)

and heres how it looks at the moment..

and now im not to sure on this... oil in the inlet of the turbo.. should i be worried? things to check?

need to get the cams out and then the head off and wait for my gaskets to arrive.... :(

and just took the cams out... and then thought i would get the head bolts off....

snapped a extension bar... and rounded a head bolt off... so got the hump and went in for the night

ill have to work something out sometime... guess ill have to weld a nut on the top

pretty confident i could weld a nut on the top... like drill a nut to be close to head bolt size.. and then hammer it on and then weld..

ill get some more pictures up of how it sits at the moment...

right might had found out why i rounded the head bolt off.... me being a dick i didnt clean the bolt out enought and i thought it was a 10mm allen key

it was infact a torx bit... so might be able to save it when i get a chance to ..

new head bolts turned up today and a induction pipe i needed...

and a box from toyota :o

    the gasket set...

many more than i thought would turn up... now just got to find a place for it all :o

need to get on and work on it but works prooving to be a pain... :(

    right...

heres how its looked for a while with no cams etc..

after snapping various tools and rounding bolts off i finally got the head off (woooo)

had to drill the rounded off one out..

    the suspect in question

    pilot hole

    some drilling yo

then we just kept going up in size to slowly get the head of the bolt off

    and then pop!

so that was a real pain that i thought wouldnt have been solved so easy :)

here you can see the up in sizes

    heres the head offf finannnnnnnaly

now not to sure of what the condition should be to be honest...?
    any opinions would be good...

now ive ordered some pistion rings.. and they wont be here till next week.... so next is just to get on whipping bits off...

and got to source some black gloss engine paint for the block :)

right another update today... the misses went home so i got busy...

started to get the oil and shit out of the engine bay, but no pictures of this as i remembered i needed the engine done!

so i split all of the front sump off ready for a re seal and to do the piston rings

and then spent the rest of the time trying to clean out the garage/shed so i could carry on doing
the head work when its dark/raining...

not much of an update but i guess more will have to come apart sometime..

    cheers for looking!

well today wasnt very productive.. but i actually done a wee bit of work on the car all this shits going in...

rinsed a tonne of break cleaner de-greasing all the old leaked oil... hopefully it stays in the engine and where fluids should stay this time..

got all new washers etc for the power steering rack as it was leaking like a biatchhhh and had to work out from old photos how it went back together..

and then as i was just chilling sitting in my engine bay on the blower... i found this :(

so now got to replace this to... grrr

hopefully more engine work tomo ..

either head disassembly or block disassembly..

ill try and get a move on!

right.. piston rings have gone back so thats some money back...

and just a reminder im no mechanic.. so what you about to see might not be right etc.. but im improvising..

took all the cap things off the tops of the valves.. and there in a order

    state of it.. :(

then i didnt have a valve spring compressor.. so the internet was my friend and i found a different way of doing it..

    heres the tools needed..

    then do this

    then this

    and this

this was such a pain to do.. took forever and im sure the propper tool would had made light of this..
anyways, then the magnet catches the collets..

the first one was such a pain to do.. well even work out how to do it..

    got one side out :)

and then cracked on and done the otherside..

and then took the valve stem seals out... the exhaust side came off everso easy...
but the inlet side i had to destroy ever seal to get it off... but got fresh new ones so all good..

heres how it looks at the end of today!

now jut got to clean it all up (to the best i can myself without getting to industrial)
and then can start putting it back together..

still need to do the crank seals on the block and then things can get put back together! :) (wooo)

    started to clean the head..

then i lapped the valves... never done it before and it took forever!

    one side done

    both sides done

then cleaned all the face of the head up :) looked much better

then me and my pal henry hoover made a new attachment to suck bits of crap out the hard to reach places in the head

then put all the valve stem seals in on the inlet side and the exhaust side..

and heres how it looks at the moment... as i cant get the valves back in... :( well the collets etc...

also got the front sump back on all sealed up and the sump pan on and sealed.. all thats left is to get the head done and back on and things should be pretty straight forward from there! get some flicks up tomo hopefully

    fingers crossed..
