Should I paint or should I go now?

I've just bought this:

Drift Spec MX5 for sale
obviously the first thing to go it the paint, however everybody I've shown the car to thinks I'm nuts and should just leave it the way it is. My problem is that for most of my drifting I need to keep a low profile (partly cos I'm crap and partly so the description of the car from witnesses is as vague as possible).
My last driftsheds have been matte black or matte white, for easy touching up after coneage, kerbage and, on one exciting ocassion, bridgeage. I feel that comedy paint schemes are for competition cars, and I'm a long way off being good enough to compete at anything. That said, the whole bus queue waved and shouted this morning - they all like it the way it is.

Given that painting it is going to be no problem at all should I paint my car:

a) matte black

b) some other silly colour scheme (feel free to suggest something, possibly involving curling tongs or scissors, be abusive if you like)

c) not at all, leave it as is.

Gay question I know, but look at what I've just bought.

Muppet.

yeh drive around shittily and drag declans good name down.

matt black would be pointless. i see mattblack as a way to cover up fricked up paint, not to cover up something thats got a good finish already.

Agree with Nick. Why change it? Save your money for other shit. Paint is fine.

You got bigger things to worry about, like getting good, to worry about what paint job it is.

Drift it as the car stands, once you damaged a few panels then worry about the paintwork.

Just take the stickers off, That'll help, then extend the white or something like that, keep it cheap. Or like I do, wait till you stack it then worry about it !

Well seeing as you want to keep a low profile you need to paint it

Update:

Spent paint money on drifting instead :

Fixed crash damage for free with cable ties and old bits of Nissan Micra and spent the repair budget on paint. Future graphics can now be done with chalk...

I'm sure there'll be pictures of how it looks now after the SVA thing at Lydd next week.

Found a picture of the new paint, been through a tyre wall since this...

I've no idea why I didn't paint the bonnet. I kind of like having an Auto Glym sticker on a matt car though...

Yeah, the need for stealth has gone now: I'm doing more practice days on airfields instead of the local, erm, training circles.

...and here it is at the SVA thing at Lydd. Note comedy indicators/sidelights made from Nissan micra side repeaters, a couple of scraps of carbon fibre, a pair of LED bulbs, cable ties and tape. Much cheaper than fixing the broken standard light and extra underbonnet cooling too.

Just needs a clutch and driving skill now. More power will have to wait until something magic happens to my bank balance.
