    Spec was

    - TRD fuel pump and FPR
    - Full exhaust system
    - Fujitsubo
    - HKS oil cooler
    - HKS oil filter relocation kit
    - TRD 2-way diff
    - TRD clutch
    - TRD Short shift kit
    - TRD front coilovers
    - KYB rear shocks and TRD springs
    - Cusco adjustable arms
    - Cusco upper and lower braces
    - Nearly all the other suspension bits uprated aswell!
    - Full rollcage (dash dodger)
    - K Sport bucket seat
    - OMP wheel with snap-off boss
    - Stripped out rear
    - TRD oil and water temp gauges
    - Fly off handbrake button

then started to have fun in it until she went bang , It had seemingly been getting starved of oil as the pump and oil system and engine was full of that silicone gasket stuff because it had been used extensively through out the engine rather than actual gaskets :wack:

Any way pulled the engine apart as per previous posts and now into rebuilding it so i will add to this as i go along but so far the block has been machined , sump baffled and it all given a lick of paint
    [IMG]
And i have these to go in
    [IMG]
And this new head and cams to sit on the top
    [IMG]
Also because my car will be running carbs the standard Dizzy set up will not allow for any adjustment to ignition timing so i have this to fit
    [IMG]
Will mean that i can ditch the dizzy in favour of a ford Zetec coil pack set up and it should mean i can plug all of my instruments back in , car should run a lot smoother and should be slightly more reliable id hope :)

The Spec im aiming for should be something like
AWT polish and ported head with arrow shim under bucket kit with cat cam springs
    Cat cams with spec: duration 278 / 266°, duration 254 / 242° Max lift 11.80 / 11.05mm lift at TDC 3.65 / 2.90mm
    Toda adjustable cam pulleys
Toda high comp pistons with 0.2 overbore and a 11.3:1 ratio
    Toda timing belt
    0.8mm Toda head gasket
    Midwest 4age H-beam rods
ARP head stud and nut kit
    ARP main stud kit
    ARP Rod bolts
    ACL race bearings
    Toda light weight fly wheel
Toda clutch cover with new Helix paddle
    New toyota oil pump
    HKS inlet manifold
    48mm Mikuni carbs
    Fujitsubo exhaust manifold
    Kakimoto exhaust
Megajolt Ignition with Zetec coil pack

Im looking for the power to be somewhere between 180 and 200 bhp wich should hopefully keep it just about usable on the street and retain some drivability yet be fun on the track too  . Any in put welcome cheers

I did try telling my mate not to use so much bloody gasget sealant everywhere including ontop of old rubber gasget seals on the rockers but would he listen? Would he f#*k! :D

Where was there gasget sealant where it shouldn't have been then? Oil pump, water pump and sump is what he did (deffo far too much on the sump I know that) Did it do the bottom end bearings in?

I love this car, need to get my booter back out again.

Yeah there was sealant on the sump with no gasket , same on the oil pump, the oil filter relocation kit and hose fittings , cam covers so pretty much everywhere. Wrecked the bearings, cams and it caused contact with the valves too :( . A engine swap or rebuild was always on the cards this just sort of spared it on a bit lol.

Booters are where its at mate ! haha

Cheers mate hope it all turns out right :)

Nice car there mate, I'll be interested in keeping an eye on this project, especially how the ignition side of things goes - I'm soon going to be building a 7AGE for my KE70, on which I'll be using twin webers :)

There isn't a gasget for the main sump and oil pump? You have to use gasget paste same as an sr20 just not as thick as he did and deffo not on the oil line fittings, think I must have been at work when he did that I'd have just ptfe taped them

Cool ill try and get as much info down as i can but it will be Ian @ Ian Walley Racing doing the wiring and stuff as its a bit lost on me. Should be the same set up as im using if you wanted to run it on a 7AGE i got the kit from Triggerwheels.com and its very comprehensive and pretty good value really

Hmmm i don't know just got a full gasket kit from Toyota and theres one that fits the sump perfect and the new oil pump came with a gasket and seal kit too. Yeah ill agree it was quite thickly applied in places like lol , the only things ill be using from the motor will be the block and crank as they where salvagable everything else has had to go wich is a shame as there was some tasty parts when we opened it :( .

I might be wrong then but when we opened the engine up the main sump had what looked like original sealant and the oil pump. The bottom end was standard from another mates old rolla so had seen plenty of abuse esp from him lol

Shame really but be cool to see it with more power. We put an aw11 rack in it which gives it quicker steering and more lock, don't even think it's had any sort of lock spacers on it but the rack gave a decent amount by itself if I remember right.

Haha Sounds like it was in need of a bit of a refresh then lol. Yeah i debated if i should go 20V , 4agze or turbo or even for a S2k motor but in the end just wanted to stick with the 16V , felt very strong with just 154bhp so can't wait to see what it will be like with a bit more poke in it.

Cool to know about that cheers  Im putting PS knuckles on and a battle version spacer in to give it a bit more but i have a full S13 set up wich has just been donated to me so might go that way instead just yet but ill see.

The seat whats in at the moment is a K-sport seat , there pretty good seats , hold you nice/firm and are comfortable to very much like a Recaro SPG in feel and form IMO. I have a Bride seat to go in it as the K-sport wasn't JDM tyte yo ! enough for me lol yes i really am that pathetic lol :wack:
