Datsun 260z. RB25

Hi all
Right before i start this i know there is another Z car build on here which looks amazing so please dont compare me to that one.

I always wanted a Datsun 240z but never had one come up at the right price, after along time looking i gave up and give in to the idea i was not getting one. Untill the start of this year when something set me off again. But this time i looked a bit further (260z) and found one at the right money.



The plan was to bring her back to a normal looking car RB25 engine just a fun toy. But its got out of hand now its turning into a full on drift monster.

Im not into writing this stuff so ill just put plenty of pics up.


2 days after getting the car it was striped and took to the garage for a roll cage. While i found the rest of the parts for her. After a long old search i could not find the suspension i wanted so went back to the cage builder and some how ended up leave after agreeing to cut the floor out of the datsun and my 200sx which i have had for years and combine the two to get the perfect set up.

Its not at my unit. Its in willenhall. Ill have a go at most things but i felt changing the floor plan was over my head lol.
It started as a dream. but im well into it now.

The aim to start with is 400 to 450 bhp. I want to get the car moving right first then we will go for a 700bhp.
Oh yeah and she is staying road legal

fuck road legal pete, youll never drive it on the road anyway, not with 400 or 700 horse, just aint cricket lol, once the floorplan is swapped its only a matter of days til we get it all put together and running, lets face it, with both our experience and with your guys experience its literally a walk in the park

As soon as the floor is swaped its of to the paint shop. then that will be it throw it back togeather and go play. And as for road legal it has to be done the plan is to take this on the rico rally next year. And the planning is in place for a nice drive to gatebil.

And this is the engine. donated from my poor s13. she will be missed but at least she gets to live on in the new car.

After a lot of thinking and talking it has been decided that im going for the TDP suspension set up.
Apart from how pretty it looks, from what i read and what im told it works very well.

The problem i have is i work away so getting parts is easy working on the car is the tricky bit. Im away for 6 weeks at a time then back for 2 weeks so progress on this will be fairly slow. But it will get there aim is show season next year.
As for the colour im feeling black on this one i think. I would like a hint of green in it but i have not found one i like yet.
