Hi there! I'm from Bulgaria and i'm going to show my project and to exercise my poor english . I bought my Moskvich 6 years ago but now i feel confident to do it proper. Last time that i rebuild the engine it bring me confident that it will drift . But the body is in veri bad shape,of course you can get nice Moskvich for veri low price ,but you know....it's just not the same car ! Oh and just to know it's pretty much scrap project So the major things i made so far : put a scrap turbo in it , then intercooler ,after that i put bigger turbo and bigger intercooler -it was to fast for me . It start to broke diffs ang gearboxes,so i put a mercedes W201 rear suspension - sure get some improvement. After that i put Ford sierra gearbox -still going well ,and finalli weld the diff with 3,9 FDR - it was fun! So here some pics. pic of the rear suspension -i cut it with a 75mm on side to get it in the fenders {} the tire is not so big as it seems {} i use stock moskvich shocs {} litle bit more room for bars {} and the engine got the Opel Record 2,3 td turbocharger {} little bit flated the pistons {} port and "pollish" the head just waiting the propper manifold {} and for the header i start extra low budget - as i fab my head flange {} just the starting {} all done {} last triming on the flange {} {} {} the bends for downpipe {} {} got it done {} here's with Airesearch T3 but it's to big for me {} just to get some stance {} {} made hidro too {} and the pressure plate(Opel vectra 2.0-who knows) {} last minute turbo swap {} {} well that's pretty much for today..can't say everything in one post P.S. I drive it on lpg- the poor man's fuel lol
Cool as hell! Awesome stuff on a super low budget! What carb are you using? Was it much work to convert it to blow-thru?
Well the carb on the begining was the stock one but not hermetique enough and smelled onLPG all over the car,so i deside to put the mono-jetronic from our first VW passat b3 and the improvement was obviousand the throttle respons too! For blow thru on lpg is pretty easy ,as was my case i used atmospheric reducer vaporizer and i just balaced it to boost pressure and there you have it- extra low budget turbo Moskvich
And to continue with things made so far Massive intercooler instalation as you see my bad bonnet litle bit caster litle bit art litle bit power also made some wheels and my favourites and a video shows that i don't know what to do behind the wheel
Sure i get some LSD but it will cost as my whole car ,i'm thinking ASD is more like and practical for me , like this one with manual pump to lock the diff whenever you want
And some pictures of the car several days ago {} {} {} {} {} it will be total reconstruction and there just no plase for old tin so i made and sheet metal bender just to make my job easyer , from scrap metal of course {} {} and some test bends {} rear suspension will be reconstructed too thing to do it 2 A-arms just like the front one {} hope i get some movement soon....
Today i got some time to cut some scrap material for the rear suspension and made brackets to reinforce corners when it's all done
Advises for type of my rear suspension are wellcome that's very clean but i have to fabricate another steering knuckles that was my first idea where i'll keep the original steering knuckles use orignal uniball joint on the botom and upper uniball too , just on 2 main points.....but the fron is nothing more... as i said : advises are wellcome
