So I exchanged my 350z earlier this year with a forum member (cozzi) . It was originally built by marky Stewart of paintworx in Ireland so I won't take the credit for that . So car so far had Rb25det series 2 standard boost Apexi air filter Gtr fuel pump Gtr intercooler Trust 3 inch system Cusco 4 point half cage Cusco coilovers Zenki front and rear bunpers D max window spoiler Rota Gtrs So as I work at sea things were put on hold until I came home although I did a bit of shopping in the states and brought some Godspeed rear lower arms and a keys racing wheel . Over the last few days I have been fitting my cs2s and driftworks adjustable arms and superclarkey knuckles with tein Rods I now have more than enough lock to be on with . So over the next couple of months there will be plenty of updates as there is more in the pipeline . Cars off to Steve at fc tuning where I'm having the following fitted . Holset hx35 Sard 555cc injectors Haltech ecu with fresh loom Top mount manifold made of steam pipe so it won't crack from rips nz Uprated head gasket Hoping to get 400bhp to keep it reliable not really after more than that Cars off for alignment Monday then fitting my hydro ,dw rad and oil cooler ,also got some defi gauges to go in. I did one drift day earlier this year in this car and I can see plenty more potential
Day at rockingham drift day http://img.tapatalk.com/d/ 13/12/21/jehajuny.jpg Someone's not a fan of the dhildo
Defi oil pressure and temp installed just got to do a bit of wiring when I fit my oil cooler Keys racing wheel I brought back from the states on a snap off boss
Ok so all the suspension was aligned today now I ran into this problem . With the superclarkey knuckles and the dw lcas the lock stops won't meet so the wheel hits the tension rod . Has anyone else experienced this problem ?
Are the tension rods bent slightly? If so they bend away from the wheel, also the bigger spacer at the rose joint end goes on the wheel side, so the opposite of what you have there.
Tension rods are def the wrong way round. The bigger spacer on the rose joint goes tire side and the arm should bend in giving you more lock not less.
what the others said... do people just buy all this stuff without having any understanding of why they have purchased it ?
Ok sorted the arms out ,Fitted a few braces today (boot brace and diff brace ) pictures to follow. While fitting the diff brace I noticed the subframe had cracked through around the diff mount ,so quick phone call to my mate got it welded up temporarily as the cars off to FC tuning on monday for the power upgrade ,2nd hand subframe from driftbitz on ebay for 70 quid delivered jobs a good un. Gives me a good excuse to fit the solid subframe bushes and godspeed lower arms I have anyway.
So cars off to Steve @fc tuning tomorrow very excited ,just did some last few errands that needed doing . Got fibreglass all over my hands doing heat wrapping . Looks nice from a far but far from nice doing a six branch manifold is a pain in the arse http:// img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/05/ qusu9eha.jpg And my 3 inch cx racing v band down pipe I imported from the states
are you going to run the actuator on the hx35 or will you be using an external wastegate? it's the same turbo I have, I just removed my actuator and will be welding shut the flap inside to run an external gate when I fit it
I did question that myself but was assured that the preload can be adjusted on the actuator ,I'm not going to be running mega boost so hoping I'm not going to be getting too much creep. Will be going for reliability at the moment as I'm on standard internals. I'm probably going to uprate the internals in the summer or just jz it if the worst happens. So cars down at redline Motorsport/ FC tuning saw some pretty cool cars in there workshops spent an hour or so checking them out ,so here's what I'm having done. Haltec sprint with fresh loom Plazman front facing plenum fitted Hks fuel regulator Sard 550cc injectors Top mount steam pipe manifold Holset hx35 3 inch cx racing v band downpipe Multi layer head gasket Car already has gtr fuel pump and intercooler which should cope just fine ,if I get 400bhp on that lot I will be more than happy as car skids very well as it is ,but seeing as I don't need it to commute to work etc it's my bit of fun on the road as well to wipe the smile off BMW and Audi drivers
So while car was away I had a few thing to keep me occupied. While fitting a diff brace I noticed a split in the subframe around the diff mount . I got a mate to weld it up as a temporary measure and purchased a second hand r33 subframe off the bay. I had some solid subframe mounts so now was a good time than ever to get them installed . Just a case of burning the old bastards out first And get the subframe nice and shiny with fresh chassis black
Ok so the guys at redline have installed the mls head gasket . Top mount manifold is installed be interesting to see the clearance of the holset against the rocker cover . Plazmaman inlet plenum to go and just waiting on the Haltech sprint to arrive from Australia .
Some pictures I received looks good so far nice workmanship. Steve Sadler is working his magic Monday evening and mapping the Haltech sprint ecu . All being well picking the car up tues or weds
