Hello guys! I have bmw e36 for drifting,{I have idea build this for track only, but now its not possibly.. And I build my car for daily drifting ) engine:M50b25 with stroker kit from m52b28 I want to fitt turbo on this engine.. This is test, i want 0.5 bar. because on the 3rd gear I miss power..for stability drifting ) who know?what need to tune for normal working engine? CR 10.5:1 need bigger gasket? or i can boost this? If i like turbo drifting, winter 2014/2015 i build from 0 new engine, turbo engine with normal parts..but in this time a need to try how it is ) some pics of my car. Sorry for bad english.
but i need to do 350-380 Hp .. maybe 0.7 bar.. guys who i know @ m54b30 boost 0.7 bar,and all is okay... N/A power approximately is a 220-240 Hp. @ stock m50b25 can do 300 Hp with 0.5 bar.. or for 350 hp need changes? oil pump need to change? or stock 2.5 pump work normal?
For those kind of power it would be wise to get a thicker gasket and ARP studs because you will have to run a full bar to achieve that power level. Most likely ARPs aren't needed just new new head bolts could do the trick. Oiling isn't an issue on M50s. To run that kind of power reliably you have to pay attention on things around the engine. Good intercooling, smooth exhaust manifold, proper ECU map, solid fuel pump and injectors. Stock clutch will give up, so will the gearbox and the diff bolt will crack all the time. All those things happend to us running a supercharged M50 with only 250 HP/400 Nm.
Totally depends on the turbo. No way will you need as much as 1bar with the right turbo setup to hit 350bhp on an engine that already is pushing over 200 n/a
