Hello there!
I recently got this, a nice unfinished project, totally standard except it has a DET mounted in but hasnt been wired up or plummed in etc!
So first thing first was the wiring! Ive wired the relays in except for the fuel pump which im having trouble with, when attach the black/pink wire to the relay it doesn't work, but if I attach a ground it does come on but stays on.
The interior is pretty mint!
Just needs a clean.
Exterior is pretty scrappy though!
Missing the rear wing :(
And has a dented rear bumper!

So taking a break from the wiring/head scratching I took a look at the rear bumper. Dont have a manual so working out how to get it off was pretty fun!
I guess this is why its bent.
I hoping a heat gun will make it straight!

Should be able to straighten this bracket out.
Theres a bit of rust that needs to be sorted before the bumper goes back on!
Put on a new hopefully correct slave cylinder? was a 3/4.
Need a new Power steering pulley as this is a v belt one.
This was from a few monthes ago, my plan was t get it running for the summer, still havnt got it road legal yet! But m nearly there! just waiting on wheels.

You have to love 1980s interiors

Looks good, looking forwards to seeing the progress on this. Hope the rust doesn't turn out to be too expansive.

Thanks Jon, Rust aint too bad to be honest just the rear of the sills.
Small update.

As the internetz said to use 95 escort outers, I bought some but they don't fit, must be the American escort I guess so bought this from japspeed, said that its for s13 but its not! bum!
so don't fit the standard inners that I have, not sure what to do now, s14 inners will be too long I think.

Didn't want to get the japspeed inners aswell.

Got some wheels!!!! I actually had got some steel wheels to band, but Im in a hurry and didn't want to have to paint them myself so got me some fakes :(

Not bronze though like advertised more a gun metal, doesn't matter though will powder coat black I think, well eventually.

Cant wait to get em on.

A few more hours spent on this, was a bit worried the wheels wouldnt fit round the brakes but they do!

LOL at the fitment

LOL.

So went and got the tyres fitted, could only get 2 on, 2 just wouldnt go on. tried a can of hairspray but didnt work, any tips?

here you can see this arch, it was covered in like an inch of filler! this is after I inverstgated it and covered it wth a bit of primer

So took all the filler off and rolled the arch, a lot!

Here you can see the crease that was under the filler

The other side needs attention as its a little rusty.

Fronts will get some arch love too, not enough time today.

I need to tidy up!

Cant wait to get it off the axle stands and see how it sits.

The resistors are just simply to alter the signal to the rev counter to get a correct reading.

Straightened out the rear bumper bracket.

before.

Tried to go lower!

this will have t do till I can mill a few mm off the spacer.

Painted the bumper as the old one did my head in as it was cut.

belt don't fit!!

thought it was correct though.

Oh and I think my turbo is dead, recently took it off and tightened all the oil and water lines as t smoked before, put t back on and still smokes really bad, like physically smokes from the turbo weird eh? I take it is dead, shame as there is no play in the shaft.

Oh and I cant make 9s work in the front with the z32 brakes :(

Right got some 8" for the front, now just looking at tyres.
I want to keep the same radius as the rears, they are 195 50 on a 9"
So I need a 175 55 on the 8" or so the tyre calculator says, anyone with any experience with these tyres?

Plus the 175 is a economy tyre that costs more than the 195 ultra sports I got!! :(
